Well here are going to be some helpful methods to think about when problems are developed:
Questions! - The key and most important part of ethical desicions is asking all the right questions. If you ask the wrong questions you won't be able to properly make the right desicion. Questions such as:
1.) What's the dilema?
2.) Who is involved in this problem?
3.) What can we do to solve it? (make sure you have multiple choices)
4.) How would this situation effect (Me, the company, co-worker, or consumer)? (makes sure that you do this for each alternitive.)
5.) Is this the right thing to do?
Basic Principles.- Here is a good list of just basics that you should just keep in mind if you didn't already know ;) hahah 1. Don’t let your personal gain get in the way for the good of the company.
2. Take a look at all perspectives, not just yours.
3. Respect everyone and what they are entitled too.
4. Keep promises and obey your contracts.
5. Use feelings to help decide moral dilemmas.
6. Get all the facts.
7. Treat everyone fairly.
8. Define your company’s and your personal values.
9. Always make your decision to be in line with your values, beliefs and morals.
10. Never compromise your morals.
11. Ethical decisions must account for unjust actions.
12. Don’t choose the easy way out. Think about all the options (don’t just go for a quick fix)
13. Don’t cross boundaries of what others will tolerate while balancing companies and others interest.
14. Communicate to everyone that they have a responsibility to keep the company’s moral and ethical standards in check.
15. When in doubt, don’t.
16. Put proper checks and balances of ethical behavior that don’t create bottlenecks.
17. When possible seek the input of anyone affected at a moral crossroad.
